Peer-review process

All articles must undergo a double-masked peer review process before being recommended for publication in the European Journal of Interdisciplinary Issues. In this process, the authors do not know the reviewers, and the assigned reviewers do not know the authors. The review period typically does not exceed 30 days. Each article is reviewed by two experts who hold a scientific degree and have scholarly contributions in a field related to the article’s subject matter.

During the review process, author manuscripts are selected for publication, and specific recommendations for their improvement are made. The review procedure aims to provide an objective assessment of the scientific article’s content and compliance with the journal’s requirements and involves a comprehensive analysis of the manuscript’s strengths and weaknesses.

Reviewers fill out a standard review form, recommending the article for: publication on the journal’s website without any comments, typesetting and publication on the website after minor revisions without returning to the reviewer, publication on the journal’s website only after significant revisions, addressing comments, and returning the revised version to the reviewer, or rejection with an explanation to the authors.

If one reviewer recommends rejecting the article, and another recommends publication, the responsible editor appoints a third reviewer, and based on their recommendation, the editorial board makes the final decision on the rejection or publication of the article. If both reviewers reject the article, the manuscript is removed from consideration and is not accepted for publication.

Editorial board members may not engage in discussions with authors whose articles were rejected after review.

In the case of a review requiring corrections to the article, the author must address all comments when making changes to the article’s text or justify why such changes cannot be made. The updated article must include a response letter to all comments with explanations of the changes made in the article.

The date of acceptance for publication of the article is recorded as the date of receiving a positive review with a recommendation for publication.

All manuscripts received for review are confidential documents.

Reviewer comments cannot be published or disclosed in any way.
